Forest Fenn's Treasure Hunt

It's been found! Forest Fenn's hidden treasure has been found!

The long and short of it is that an antiques and art collector hid a treasure chest in the American wilderness over 10 years ago. The box was said to contain over $1 Million worth of collectibles, gold nuggets, and antiques.

Forrest Fenn the eccentric explorer responsible for the chest was hoping to inspire a good old fashioned treasure hunt. He wrote a poem (picture) detailing its exact whereabouts.

“It was under a canopy of stars in the lush, forested vegetation of the Rocky Mountains and had not moved from the spot where I hid it more than 10 years ago. I do not know the person who found it, but the poem in my book led him to the precise spot. I congratulate the thousands of people who participated in the search and hope they will continue to be drawn by the promise of other discoveries. So the search is over. Look for more information and photos in the coming days” - Forrest

Thousands of people have spent over a decade searching for this chest. Some rupturing their whole lives looking for it, many quitting, and some even dying.

This has inspired me to kickstart my top 10 treasure maps of history (fictional and factual) series. Forrest Fenn's treasure definitely deserves its number 1 spot. Few people have ever managed to make such a tantalizing, exciting, and genuinely invaluable experience.

The poem had people stumped. Below are some youtube diaries of explorers on the search.

There are Facebook groups who have joined forces, some 6k members strong. But this writer believes that the journey of finding it alone was too tantalizing to share...
